  15. Heres my problem. My USR V.everything connects everywhere at 28.8, but it 
  16. seems to always request one or two retrains immediately upon connecting and 
  17. then it 'stabilizes'.

  19. During the retrain period, the connection is 'frozen' and no data transmits.
  20. the retraining period takes between 5-10 seconds. (The MR and ARQ LED's
  21. turn off during a retrain)
  22.  
  23. RAS/DUN can't recognize the fact that the modem is retraining, and tries to
  24. login to the host during the 'retraining' period and usually aborts or after a 
  25. few repeated tries (after timing out and redialing) DUN says "PROTOCOL NOT 
  26. CONFIGURED" and I'm forced to reboot in order to use PPP again, ( DUN tries to 
  27. connect via PPP first, then NETBEUI-NT3.1).

  29. I am using the latest flash-bios update and the latest .INF files for both 
  30. NT/WIN95.

  32. Right now I am using the login terminal and waiting for the retrains to finish 
  33. before I can manually login.

  35. Is there anything else I can do to get my USR to stop retraining upon connect?
